The NT Government has today announced they will bring together a team of three eminent business and political leaders in attempts to boost the economy.
The announcement follows concern from the community that there isn't enough happening to stimulate the economy.
The team will be charged with bringing new investment to the Territory to create new local jobs, drive economic opportunities and boost our population.
'Team NT' members include Former Chief Minister Clare Martin, Former Chief Executive Paul Tyrrell and Leading Territory business man Dick Guit.
The Chief Minister Michael Gunner hopes 'Team NT' will sell the NT’s investment, business and lifestyle prospects nationally and internationally.
“The Territory needs to grow and we need more jobs – as Chief Minister I will do everything I can to support local business, including through Team NT,” Mr Gunner said.
“We are going through a tough economic period and we can’t do it alone, we need investment from outside. Team NT will seek out prospects to boost our economy, create
jobs, grow our population."
The team has been given three main tasks:

1. Bring more corporate offices to Darwin;
2. Use our existing excess gas to bring more manufacturing to the Territory; and
3. Improve the air and sea links between the Territory, East Indonesia and Timor Leste. Mr Gunner said.
