Close to $100 million to boost tourism in the NT
Chief Minister Michael Gunner today announced almost $27 million in new funding for tourism marketing and $70 million on tourism infrastructure as part of a record stimulus package aimed to “turbo-charge tourism”.
The package will see money pumped into supporting the tourism industry immediately and over the next two years.
Chief Minister said the announcement is about Creating local jobs.
“I will move heaven and earth to support Territory business during this tough economic period – that is my message to them," Mr Gunner said.
The Chief Minister and Katie Woolf also discussed the decision by Indigenous MLA's to meet without their non-indigenous colleagues and the Federal Government's decision for an inquiry into the way money is spent on youth justice.
