Spate of violent robberies at a Palmerston bottle shop

The BWS shop in Palmerston has been targeted in 6 separate robberies. 

Police have arrested one man over a spate of threatening behaviour toward staff. 

It’s alleged the man entered the Palmerston BWS threatening staff he would slit their throats, before stealing an employee’s credit card and leaving the bottleo at 2:40pm Thursday.

The same man then returned 30 minutes later, allegedly threatening staff he would stab them with a knife, before stealing alcohol and leaving. 

He then returned once again to the BWS, where it’s alleged the man had a knife in his pocket, threatening to stab staff before stealing more alcohol. 

Later that day two men attended the same BWS in Palmerston, stealing a quantity of alcohol. 

The men have allegedly threatened staff with an axe – police say the axe was not sighted but the offenders gave the impression to staff that it was in their possession. 

Police located the two men shortly after the incident and they have now been arrested.

Following this, a man visited the BWS shop wielding a 25cm steak knife. 

It’s alleged the man has used the knife to attack the security guard in the bottle shop at around 9:30pm. 

Police say the man had been disarmed and then fled from the bottleo – he is yet to be located. 

After-hours at the BWS Palmerston, police say a group of 3 men had broken into the store. 

The men were allegedly forcing the shops roller doors open, with some members then entering the shop to steal alcohol while the others held the door up.

While this was happening, a separate group of men also attended the bottle shop, allegedly proceeding to steal a quantity of alcohol. 

Police are currently investigating these after-hours incidents. 

Then early this morning a BWS Palmerston employee reported to police of a man who had allegedly broken into the shop and was walking inside of the venue. 

Police attended the scene at around 3:12am – but the man had already fled from the bottleo. 

Investigations into this incident are currently underway.
