A man is in a critical condition after being hit by a car on Darwin roads.
Police responded to reports of a 50-year-old man being struck on McMillans Road at around 7:10pm Tuesday.
The man was crossing the road from a nearby bush camp and heading towards a Puma service station when an elderly gentlemen driver allegedly hit the man.
It has been reported to police that the elderly driver did not see the pedestrian until the car made impact, and he was driving in the middle lane of McMillans Road.
The driver and others immediately stopped to render assistance before emergency services arrived.
The man is currently in hospital receiving treatment.
The elderly driver was tested for drugs and alcohol at the scene which has come back negative, and he is also fully licensed.
The man is the second pedestrian that has been struck by a car on Territory roads in the past week.
