Families to be fined for not sending kids to school and could risk losing welfare payments
Education Minister Jo Hersey says there are 35 truancy officers across the NT with efforts underway to recruit 24 more.
She told Katie Woolf the new School Attendance Officers will engage with parents whose kids are not going to school and issue fines of up to $370.
Ms Hersey says families that continue to deprive children from an education could lose their welfare payments.
