Health Minister commits to extend funding for a movement disorders specialist nurse, who’s providing vital support for Parkinson’s patients
Health Minister Steve Edgington says he investigated the work of the NT’s movement disorders specialist nurse after hearing Katie Woolf’s interview with Parkinson’s NT Support Group Coordinator Jean Jagst, who raised concerns the role would be axed with Federal funding due to end in March.
Although primary health care funding falls under Federal jurisdiction Mr Edgington has committed to extend funding for the specialist nurse until 2025/2026.
He also told Katie Woolf the nurse, Yolanda Gomez was also named the NT’s Nurse of the Year for the program.
