Northern Land Council CEO Joe Martin-Jard says a new permit system for recreational fishers is just an extension of the current system. 

He told Katie Woolf the time frame around permits is still being firmed up and it’s likely land and water permits will be needed. 

Mr Martin-Jard says negotiations around access to the Mini Mini and Finnis River are ongoing.
