One of Australia's finest songwriters Paul Kelly will make his debut at this year's BassInTheGrass music festival.

Kelly, whose career spans more than 30 years and 21 albums, will be joined by a line up of some of the best in Australian music when the festival returns to the George Brown Botanic Gardens Ampitheatre on Saturday 19 May.

Other artists include Client Liaison, Confidence Man, Dean Lewis, Dune Rats, Illy, San Cisco, Spit Syndicate and Vera Blue plus local artists.

A highlight of the dry season, the festival will deliver 12 hours of back to back new age and classic beats, chilled vibes and great company both on and off stage.

First release tickets are now on sale from $75 and festival-goers are encouraged to grab their tickets now to avoid missing out.

The NT Government will provide patrons with free public transport to and from the event on the Darwin Bus Network and four complimentary water vouchers to stay hydrated throughout the day.
