NT Police are calling on the public for information following an aggravated burglary in Katherine.
It’s alleged three men broke-in to a home in the region just after midnight yesterday (April 13), waking the female resident in the process.
Police say the trio fled the scene in the woman’s car with alcohol shortly before the arrival of authorities.
They were then chased through Katherine CBD before police called off the pursuit due to safety reasons.
Officers say at one point the car allegedly drove on the opposite side of the road toward a stationary police car and swerved last minute, narrowly avoiding collision.
Authorities say the vehicle came to a stop on Riverbank Drive where all three alleged offenders fled on foot.
Investigations are continuing.
