A major announcement for Territory education with146 new teachers and 23 principals starting at our classrooms and schools.
The recruits include experienced teachers from interstate and overseas as well as recent university graduates.
The new teaching staff will attend orientation sessions, which will equip them with information for a smooth transition into their school’s community.
Minister for Education and Training Jo Hersey says educators are essential across the Territory.
“Territory schools are the heart of our communities, and we want to focus our efforts as a government to support our teachers to deliver the absolute best education to every child in every school,” she says.
“Our new teachers who come from interstate will soon learn the Northern Territory has Australia’s best lifestyle, and I hope they enjoy every minute, put down roots in our communities and stay to contribute to our future.”
