The fire along Darwin River Road is spreading under very high to extreme weather conditions and the risk of death or threat to property is almost certain.
People may be in danger and need to leave immediately if it’s unsafe to stay put.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area with road closures in place.
Authorities say school bus routes will also be impacted.
The emergency warning alert was issues at 2.15pm, with locals urged to monitor conditions.
