A Katherine man has been charged over child abuse offences allegedly committed against kids under 10 years old.
Detectives from the local Criminal Investigation Branch and Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team arrested the 28-year-old at his home yesterday.
He has since been charged with 14 offences and was remanded in custody to face Katherine Local Court today.
The 28-year-old’s charges include:
2 x Sexual Intercourse with child under 10Yrs
1 x Gross indecency against child under 10yrs
5 x Possession of child abuse material
5 x Indecent dealing with child under 10yrs
1 x Indecent dealing with child under 16yrs
Detective Senior Sergeant Jeremy Brunton has condemned the conduct.
“This behaviour is completely despicable and our message to anyone who engages in this sort of abuse is simple, you will be caught,” he says.
