A man accused of trying to run over two people in Jingili has been charged with more than a dozen offences.
The 28-year-old man allegedly mowed down the couple outside of a service station in September last year.
The vehicle struck a woman before colliding with an ice machine and leaving the scene.
The victim was treated by paramedics for non-life threatening injuries.
Detective Senior Sergeant Karl Day says it took a while to find the alleged driver as he was avoiding police.
“Investigations into the whereabouts of the driver identified the 28-year-old man had fled the Territory.”
“NT Police worked with AFP and the man was extradited back to the Territory yesterday and arrested without incident.”
He has been charged with 13 offences including recklessly endangering serious harm, dangerous and unlicensed driving and criminal damage.
The 28-year-old is expected to face Darwin Local Court today.
