A 41-year-old man has been arrested after an alleged domestic violence assault in East Point.
Authorities were called to the scene at 5.35 yesterday afternoon (December 5), where they allegedly found him assaulting his 54-year-old auntie.
Police say the woman was on the floor, as the man kicked and punched her.

Following the arrival of police it’s alleged the man began to swim into the ocean.
A police officer followed the man 50 metres into the water and returned him to shore.
The alleged offender has been taken to the Royal Darwin Hospital for treatment due to water inhalation.
The police officer has also been taken to RDH, with injuries to his feet.
Charges are expected to be laid this morning.
