A car chase broke out on the Stuart Highway last night as police pursued a stolen vehicle.
Shortly after midnight a Toyota Landcruiser peaked an officers suspucions in Palmerston.
Officer pursued the vehicle for some time before deploying a tyre deflation device which stopped the car in Humpty Doo.
Northern Watchmen Constable Josh Cunningham says the male driver was arrested at the scene.
“The male occupant will later be charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, driving a vehicle in a manner dangerous during pursuit and driving while disqualified,” he says.
He says the owner of the vehicle was unaware it had been stolen.
