The annual sandbar party off Cullen Bay Marina has, on the whole, run smoothly according to Police.
More than 700 people attended the party with police undertaking 66 vessel checks issuing 13 infringements.
Northern Watch Commander Michael Fields says 2 litres of alcohol was poured out and there was 2 medical episodes.
“On the whole the event ran smoothly with event organisers having engaged with Police prior to the event to have a co-ordinated response,” Fields said.
“Most satisfying was that only one person was taken into protective custody from the Sandbar.
“Northern Territory Police would like to thank the event organisers and event attendees for their planning and conduct on the day.
“This was a great example of Police working with private event organisers to conduct a risk assessment and ensure that appropriate resources are allocated to result in a safe and enjoyable day for all.”
