A large quantity of kava bound for an Arnhem Land community has been seized by NT Police.
Detectives were screening cargo destined for Galiwinku on Tuesday when Drug Detection Dogs Raffa and Faye were deployed to investigate two boxes.
The boxes were found to contain 122 kilograms of kava, resulting in the arrest of a 37-year-old man.

He was subsequently searched by police who later searched his home and storage container, turning up another 171 kilograms of kava, small bags of cannabis and cocaine and items indicating drug supply.
He has been charged with four drug possession and supplying offences.
