Two people have been arrested over the assault of a group with a metal pole and machete at the Palmerston Bus Exchange.
Police received reports the pair attacked five males on Tuesday afternoon.
A 24-year-old man was taken to hospital with head injuries and a cut to his ear.
Security guards later seized a guitar case in the area containing multiple weapons believed to be used in the alleged attack.
A 26-year-old man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and going armed in public.
He has been remanded in custody to face Darwin Local Court today.
A 16-year-old boy, who was also arrested, has since been released pending further investigations.
Senior Sergeant Siiri Tennosaar has praised the efforts of all of those involved.
“I would like to commend the work of the CCTV operators who identified the offenders and the general duties officers who quickly responded, along with the security officers who assisted.”
“There is no place for this sort of violence, particularly with weapons, within our community.”
