All firearms registration and licensing across the Greater Darwin and Palmerston areas will be centralised at the Peter McAulay Centre from March 1 2019.

As a result, firearms applications and enquiries will no longer be accepted at Darwin, Casuarina, Palmerston or Humpty Doo Police Stations.

The Peter McAulay Centre is expanding its business hours to open on Saturdays commencing this weekend. The new operating hours will be Monday to Saturday from 8:00am to 6:00pm.

The centralisation will deliver a higher level of expert service to firearms licence holders and is expected to reduce licence and permit issuing timeframes.
